Education Department of MEC

The National Council for Education Reform is a national body with consultative role on the fundamentals problems of reform in education in Romania. As a body of debate, dialog and expertise, CNRI is one of the main partners of the Ministry of Education and Research and of the other public authorities contributing to the development and evaluation of educational policies in Romania.

Higher Education National Council of Scientific Research (CNCSIS)

The Higher Education National Council of Scientific Research is the main institution, which finances scientific research in universities of Romania and post-graduate studies

    CNCSIS programmes have the following mission:
  • Strengthening and development of scientific research activities in Romanian higher education
  • Fund activities that contribute to the development of the new generation of researcher in Romanian higher education and of high trained professionals able to face all challenges of the knowledge-based economy;
  • Create regional excellence centres with advanced facilities for research;
  • Develop the managerial capabilities of the university network in scientific research, its capacity to locate and secure national and international research funding opportunities

According to the Romanian Education Law, the research budget of the Ministry of Education and Research are to be allocated by grant competitions organized by CNCSIS, as grants for funding research projects. Every year, CNCSIS organizes several grant competitions among which there are special competitions dedicated to young researchers.

National Authority for Youth (ANT)

    The National Authority for Youth has the following goals:
  • synergy of its programmes with the programmes of civic society, meeting thus demands and answering major social problems of youth;
  • application of the government policy in the domain of non-formal education for children and youth;
  • development of special youth programmes toward European integration;
  • development of partnerships with youth associations.
    Its objectives are:
  • Participation of youth to public life;
  • Stimulation of youth participation to the decisional process;
  • Identification of youth problems and needs at individual and structural level;
  • Development of programmes to prevent and reduce juvenile delinquency

National Agency for Supporting Youth Initiative (ANSIT)

The National Agency for Supporting Youth Initiative is a public institution set up under GD 198/2002 amended by GD 912/2003 and represents the Romanian Government desire to make efficient the service offered to youth by the institutions previously subordinated to the former Ministry of Youth and Sports
The National Agency for Supporting Youth Initiatives was subordinated to the Ministry of Education, Research and Youth. Under GD 229/18.05.2005 ANSIT is now subordinated to the National Authority for Youth.

    ANSIT offers the following range of services
  • Informing and Consulting for Youth
  • Studies and Research Service for Youth Problems
  • Administering of YOUTH Program of the European Commission
  • Administering of EURODESK Program of European informing
    In fact, ANSIT took over the services that previously were offered to youth by specialized institutions in this field, namely
  • Directorate for Youth Informing and Consulting - INFOTIN,
  • Directorate of Studies and Research for Youth - DSRY,
  • Directorate of European Cooperation in Youth Field - EUROTIN

Agency for Student Support (AS)

The Agency for Student Support is a public institution which aims at helping youth in discovering and developing the students' potential, with a positive impact on the Romanian society. The Agency is subordinated to the National Authority for Youth The partners of AS are student organizations, universities, and national and multi-national companies that directly participate to the development of students' career. AS focuses on expertise that can give students and youth in general practical learning experiences, on promoting an active role of students in the society and on making them part of the decision process.

    Abordarea AS urmareste sa dea posibilitatea tinerilor sa isi descopere si dezvolte potentialul ca o experienta completa pe urmatoarelor principii:
  • alegerea unui rol activ;
  • capacitatea de conducere;
  • capacitatea de a schimba.
