Research theme: "Use of pen-based techniques in computer-based education"

Use of pen-based techniques allows instructors to regain flexibility in presentation using digital inking, supports role-specific views and interaction mechanisms in class, and introduces novel teaching techniques to support active learning in the classroom.

Therefore it becomes important to study how digital ink can be used in personal or collaborative annotations and to develop software applications that target both mobile devices and pen based peripherals for the desktop.

The main goal of the project is to create an application which makes extensive use of the pen, note taking and sharing. It is intended to run on TabletPC as well as a desktop computers equipped with a pen.

This work is part of "I-TRACE : Interactive Tracing and Graphical Annotation in Pen-based e-learning" project issued by Socrates and integrated in the Socrates Minerva Action program.
